FAQ

Q: I have been in business for 20 years. Everyone knows who I am and I have a great reputation. Why do I need your Seal of Approval?
A: Times have changed. Companies who have been enjoying customer loyalty for generations are suddenly being shopped on price. The alarming part is that they are expected to be competitively priced with companies who do not have the same overhead structure (License, Insurance, Quality, Customer Service, etc). The choice often becomes to lose a customer or lower your price to the point you are not making any money just to keep the customer. Every company claims to be the best at what they do and it is considered unprofessional to point out your competition's flaws. Given these realities, how are you really different in the customers eyes?  You need a third party validation that consumers trust to truly distinguish your company from corner cutting, low cost competitors.
Q: Will my employees pass?
A: We don't sweat the small stuff. We are trying to keep bad people away from our consumers. We are looking for convictions for crimes against people and property: Murder, Rape, Stalking, Child Molestation, Elder Abuse, Weapons Charges, Theft, etc. DUIs, Traffic Offenses and Possesion charges are not considered.

Q: Does it cost extra to use the Seal of Approval in my marketing materials?
A: No. You have the right to use the seal of approval for all reasonable means per our marketing agreement.
Q: Is this a lead generation service?
A: We are not a pay for lead company. Although consumers do come to Ask the Seal.com looking for safe quality companies and new customers will find you on Ask the Seal.com, the value extends far beyond that. You should use the seal of approval, photo ID badges to seal the deal and increase your close rates and profit margins for your existing business as well as enjoy the new customers who find you through Ask the Seal.com.
Q: How does the lead generation side of your business differ from other lead generation services?
A: Most consumers will not enter personal information including their phone number and email address on a website much less pay for the service. The ones that do are very valuable and we recommend you continue to use any service who is giving you leads with real names and contact information from which you are closing profitable business. Unfortunately the volume of these leads is not enough to sustain a business. Our service caters to the 99% of people who are in the market for a service and simply want the names and contact information for 3 pre-screened companies without divulging their personal information or jumping through a bunch of hoops getting there. We do allow that 1% of customers who will give out their information to do so and we pass it along to you immediately via email or text message with no lead fees.
Q: Why don't you have a public forum where the community can comment on and rate the companies and consumers can read the comments?
A: Unless you are in a closed system like ebay where they manage the transaction and both sides get to rate each other, these forums are frought with abuse. Companies have their mother, brother and neighbor post testimonials about how great they are and post negative comments on how bad their competitors are. Also, our founder owned a large home services company before starting Ask the Seal.com. We know that no matter how hard you try, there are some people you can never please. Public forums give predatory customers a vehicle to threaten you in order to negotiate a discount after the work is done or to not sue them when they don't pay. We have an idea. Why doesn't someone start a website where companies rate consumers.
